Worktops define a kitchen. Aesthetically, practically, physically. We don’t just know this, we understand it. Ignore quality for a moment - that’s a given - envision natural beauty to define your kitchen; individuality, elegance, expression. There are worktops, and there are Norfolk Oak worktops.
A variety of considerations exist when choosing your Norfolk Oak worktop - from style to performance, colour to texture; creating the best possible finish for your kitchen. A choice of timbers you would expect, but different aesthetics you might not.
Super Stave Worktops
Traditional Plank Worktops
Wide Block Worktops
A Norfolk Oak worktop is quite unlike any other mass produced kitchen worktop. Our worktops are made from the finest furniture grade North American hardwoods from the Northern Appalachian mountains of New England. We work with the finest hardwoods in the world - North American White Oak, Black Walnut, Hard Maple and Cherry.
Norfolk Oak designs and manufactures the most beautiful solid Walnut worktops. Constructed using the finest furniture grade North American Black Walnut, with its dark, rich colour and stunning grain structure, it is vastly superior to European Walnut.
Our North American Super Stave Cherry is an amazing worktop. Constructed of the finest furniture grade wood from New York State, our Cherry Super Stave Worktops are the premium of Cherry Worktops.
Oak Wide Block Worktop
Our Oak worktops are constructed using the finest furniture grade North American White Oak, with a tight grain and low colour variation, it is significantly superior to European Oak.
Our Maple, ironically named Black Maple even though it is our lightest wood, is an exceptionally hard wood - harder even than Oak. Black Maple has an incredibly subtle grain structure, is light and almost creamy in colour and has a very smooth grain.
With three different styles ranging from Classic Butcher's Block to wide full length planks, in Oak, Walnut, Cherry and Maple, a Norfolk Oak worktop is the ultimate finish to any kitchen.
Constructed using long, continuous, clean planks that run the entire length of the worktop. Our Super Stave worktops consist of random width staves varying between 90 mm and 140 mm in width. Typically you can expect to find between 5 and 7 staves in one of our standard 636 mm wide worktops.
Walnut Super Stave Worktop
A style unique to Norfolk Oak. Constructed using long, wide planks with a maximum of 2 joins per stave length of 3 metres. As with our Super Stave, our traditional plank worktops consist of random width staves varying between 90 mm and 140 mm in width, with individual stave lengths of approximately 1200 mm to 1800 mm.
A Norfolk Oak Butcher's Block Worktop is unique. Consisting of beautiful, wide staves of random widths between 55 mm and 90 mm - very different from the 40 mm or narrower staves used in lesser quality 'match stick' style worktops. You can expect to find around 8 to 10 staves across the width of one of our standard 636 mm wide butcher's block worktops.
