Norfolk Oak's Cherry Worktops are just beautiful.
It is obvious from the photographs that we only use furniture grade Cherry, but what may not be so clear is just how specific we are when we select our timber. Cherry is not only graded for knots, defects and sap wood, but in the upper grades - i.e. furniture grades - it is also graded for colour, gum pockets, pith marks and general consistency. The Cherry timber we use is called 95/50, which means the top surface must be at least 95 % red (as opposed to cream) and the underside at least 50 %. We also specify a limit on gum pockets, pith marks, and pay particular attention to a consistent grain.
Our North American Single Wide Stave Cherry is an amazing worktop. The photographs simply don't do Cherry justice, as the ribbons of gold and salmon pink and the incredible depth of the wood just can't be conveyed in a picture. Constructed of the finest furniture grade wood from New York State, our Cherry Single Wide Stave worktops are the premium of Cherry Worktops.
Our Cherry worktops are available in two different styles;
Constructed using long, continuous, clean planks that run the entire length of the worktop. Our Cherry single wide stave worktops consist of random width staves varying between 90 mm and 140 mm in width. Typically you can expect to find between 4 and 6 staves in one of our standard 636 mm wide Cherry worktops.
As with all our Cherry worktops, any width is possible. Lengths up to around 5 metres are no problem. Longer sizes are available given advanced notice.
As standard our Cherry worktops are supplied with square edges, sanded smooth, ready to oil. Please see our Bespoke Service page for information regarding our oiling service and edging options, as well as further options such as curved cuts and sink/hob cutouts.
We understand that purchasing worktops is a tremendous decision - one that will affect you everyday for years to come. If you'd like to see the incredible beauty of our Cherry for yourself, we have chopping board samples available.
A style unique to Norfolk Oak. Constructed using long, wide planks with a maximum of 2 joins per stave length of 3 metres. As with our single wide stave, our traditional plank Cherry worktops consist of random width staves varying between 90 mm and 140 mm in width, with individual stave lengths of approximately 1200 mm to 1800 mm.
A great alternative to single wide stave when extremely long lengths are required. Continous lengths up to 6 metres are no problem at all.
We can bespoke cut almost any size of worktop, however please find below as a guide some example prices for our Cherry worktops. All our worktops are 45 mm thick as standard and all prices include VAT.
