Wooden upstands provide a wonderful aesthetic to the back edge of your kitchen worktop. However the secret benefit of wooden upstands is covering up all sorts of problems; walls which aren't straight, corners which are never quite 90 degrees. Fixing wooden upstands has been made simple with the advent of 'no more nails' glue - push the wooden upstand into place, hold firmly for a couple of minutes and that's it.
We make our wooden upstands in two styles; 'Wide Block Upstands' with joints along the length - suited to our Classic Wide Block worktops, and 'Super Stave Upstands' in continuous lengths with no joints - suited to our Super Stave and Traditional Plank wooden worktops.

Oiling a wooden worktop is very important for two main reasons, firstly to protect and seal the wood and secondly to bring out the natural colours and grain patterns of the timber, essentially 'bringing the wood to life'.
We recommend Liberon Finishing Oil for sealing and protecting all our wooden worktops. It's very easy to apply - straight from the tin with a cotton rag or similar lint free cloth and produces a hard-wearing, beautiful satin finish. This is also the perfect compliment for finishing your worktops should you choose to go for our linseed pre installation oiling service.
Liberon Finishing Oil - £ 15 per litre tin
we recommend one litre per three metres of worktop
A full data sheet provided by Liberon on Liberon Finishing Oil can be found at liberon.co.uk/oil-finishes
When oiling your wooden worktops we recommend at least 6 coats top, bottom and all sides prior to installation, these are the 'sealing' coats to protect and seal your wooden worktops from moisture. Once installed apply a further 6 to 8 thin coats on the top surface. These are the 'finishing' coats, providing the smooth, hard-wearing and beautiful finish to your wooden worktops.
Thick, extruded Aluminium sheet that is fixed to the underside of your wooden worktop to protect against any moisture given off from dishwashers and washing machines situated under your wooden worktops.
£ 18 per moisture barrier (one needed per appliance)

Our Oak stools have a real feel of strength and longevity about them - they're lovely and weighty. Made from American White Oak, harder, denser and with a more delicate, beautiful grain structure than any other Oak, it is no surprise that it is the most sought after by fine furniture makers the world over.
Norfolk Oak has built a tremendous reputation for the quality of its Walnut, and when you look at one of our Walnut stools, it's easy to see why. The elegance and definition of the grain is so delicate it seems impossible for a timber of such beauty to be as hard and durable as it is. A Walnut stool from Norfolk Oak really is something quite special.
Wonderful, western saddle stools. Made by lovely Amish chap Mervyn. The stools are made from solid American oak with a dark tobacco stain with an genuine cow hide upholstered seat. Very comfortable and unique!
