A few months ago my brother Henry informed me of his plans to propose to his girlfriend Kate. He whisked her away to Iceland for a romantic break and despite the airline nearly giving away his plans to an unsuspecting Kate, it is safe to say that all things went according to plan and so this Sunday most of the family got together to celebrate their engagement. Champagne was opened, a stunning ring was looked at over and over again and conversations were directed heavily towards wedding plans. One of my favourite things about weddings and the build-up that leads to it is the effect that it can have on people. Certainly I have noticed that even those that are cynical when it comes to relationships and weddings have a change of heart even if for a little while. Seeing two people lovingly commit to a life time together in front of those they consider to be special to them re-ignites peoples belief that there is such a thing as a happy ever after and that there is a chance for us all to have that with someone if we so wish.
It was by coincidence that on this same Sunday that we were celebrating their engagement that the other girls from Norfolk Oak were at a wedding event at Briarfield’s Hotel. A lot of people mistakenly believe that we only sell wooden worktops but this is not the case. We have a large variety of other products and it was at this event that we were displaying our gift range. I would like to think that our gift range is not only unique but personal too. Certainly for myself, there is nothing more satisfying then spending time and effort to find that perfect gift for someone. Whether it be for a friend, a loved one or for a celebratory occasion, for me, giving a gift is all about exactly that – giving.

As we now speak of our weekend it seems that all of our Sundays were a success. Not only did we have a fantastic wedding show which was received with lots of positive feedback but my family and I had a perfect celebratory occasion.
