Norfolk Oak Bespoke Kitchens

As a designer I am constantly keeping a look out for different inspirational design ideas. My interests lay strongly in architectural design, both interior and exterior while also extending to landscape design. Due to this I find myself getting excited over things that many of my friends donโ€™t โ€“ I am very much hoping that this is a design thing and that I am not alone in this. It would be nice to know that I am not the only person in the world that reaches the top of a flight of stairs and can say how many steps weโ€™ve just climbed and roughly how high up we are! I digress! The reason I am mentioning design is because as designers we all need to be aware of the different aspects of design that we need to be able to cover โ€“ after all, most buildings have more than one function and comprise of more than one room. Today, therefore, I would like to have a look in to kitchens.

Norfolk Oak have worked hard to successfully develop a different manufacturing process for kitchens that at its very basis finds the highest possible quality components, precision automated manufacturing, and an assembly system which is four times faster than standard, thanks to the construction design. Key to all of this is that it is affordable.

A Norfolk Oak kitchen is completely bespoke and therefore tailored to your requirements โ€“ there are no standard sizes. We offer a variety of level of services to give you as little or as much control over your design as you are comfortable with. We can work from your measurements or alternatively we can measure for you. We are also able to provide a full design service or you can tell us your exact requirements for us to work to.

It is with thanks to particular strengths that we hold that we are able to manufacture such fabulous yet affordable kitchens. The body will consist of solid 18mm birch ply, with full backs and tops. The in-frame system is a choice of 40mm solid Oak or Maple ( Oak retains a grain effect when painted whereas Maple appears smooth), shelves are solid Oak unless you have another preference and the doors are 25mm thick with solid Oak or Maple frames and birch ply or hdf middles with brass or nickel hinges. The internal walls of the cabinets can be painted or oiled while the drawer runners are Blum or Grass soft close, taking weights of up to 60kg per drawer. Our drawer boxes are solid Oak, dovetailed, with Oak or Maple fronts. There are also further options available to you depending on whether you would like a shaker, traditional or solid Oak kitchen style. For example, with the shaker style you have the options of whether to have it with or without beading, door patterns and glazing.

With thanks to such a focused investment in equipment, process and staff we have been fortunate enough to be able to de-construct a number of timber business models โ€“ kitchens being one of them. Whilst our expertise covers all areas of kitchen and furniture manufacturing, our value expertise is in materials, CAD, CNC machining and timber processing. As a result of this we are confident in our approach and abilities that we are more than happy to deliver sample units to yourself for a few days so that the reality of what we are making is tangible.

If you are interested in having a kitchen made to measure specifically for you rather than a kitchen that is forced to fit then please get in touch with the office via e-mail or telephone so that we can talk through your requirements with you. As a designer I find it increasingly frustrating living in a world where products are made in batches and used as stock rather than being specifically made for someone. For me, the individuality and uniqueness is deducted from the product. I therefore find great comfort in knowing that companies like Norfolk Oak exist and that tailor made products are still around.

when you can have a kitchen made to fit yours and yours alone?โ€
